I am an experienced Ofsted Inspector (primary, secondary, SEND), head teacher and senior leader with over 13 years’ leadership experience in 3 very different educational settings. I believe that strong and strategic leadership (creating purpose and vision, communicating and sharing this and coaching for success) is paramount to ensure schools provide a high quality education for all pupils in every school. I have a proven track record of successfully leading in schools, providing a relentless focus on student outcomes, leading significant change and managing resources and staff to ensure that this vision in the settings in which I have had the privilege in which to work, is realised. This is evidenced by Cape Cornwall school achieving its best ever GCSE outcomes in 2015 and being one of the most improved schools in Cornwall. I believe in providing the very best environment for both pupils and staff, supporting them to become the best they can be. Equality of opportunity is central to my values. I believe in leading by example and thus, have taught science and RE in years 7 to11. Additionally, I have chaired the Penwith Education Trust (PET), a Co-op Trust of 16 schools. Since 2013, I have worked with the National Executive of the NAHT to influence our national educational provision so that it offers the very best for all. I have also been an active member of the Raising Aspirations and Achievement team and CASH with Cornwall LAI have now retired from my work as an Educ Consultant supporting both primary & secondary schools. I now use my experience as an Ofsted Inspector and HT to support the GB of a primary fedn (where I am Vice Chair), the Board of Plymouth Children in Poverty and FASTN. I have delivered the NPQH; supported the delivery of coaching training; undertaken HT appraisals; SIP for 2 MATs, (primary & secondary schools) & have delivered the module on leading Strategic Change with the Uni of Worcester.
