As Manager within the CFO practice, I helped CFO's improve in the multiple roles they play and address the challenges their finance organizations face: fast close, consolidation & reporting processes, budgeting & financial planning, cost accounting, cost reduction, performance management... combining both financial skills and project management skills. I helped many finance professionals rethinking their finance organization by gaining control over the financial impact of their business processes, improving and accelerating their financial reporting, enhancing the decision making process by optimizing their budgeting and forecasting processes and managing their working capital needs.

As the responsible of the Financial Analysis and Reporting, I have been leading a team of 7 analysts/controllers (both intern and extern) in charge of reporting and analysing figures of 22 foreign branches in Europe, Asia and US. I ensured monthly, quarterly and annual closings under both BeGaap and IFRS norms, supervising local bookings in order to meet tight deadlines. I redesigned full financial review papers and set up various KPI’s to ensure the accuracy of both the local reporting and the Schema A/B for the BNB.

As a Financial Controller of two business units (Industrial and Customer Services), reporting to both the BU General Manager and to the VP Finance & Accounting, my main responsibilities included the establishment of the annual budget and the 5 years strategic plan in conjunction with business managers, and the monthly reporting (gathering data from US entity to report BU consolidated financial results), including comments and variances analysis. I prepared the executive summaries sent to corporate members of the management team and guided management decisions by providing his financial expertise, early identification of opportunities or unfavourable trend. Among others, I participated to various project reviews, managed hedging and coverage letter, and assisted the external auditors when required. I also prepared cash flow reports and the follow-up of incoming cash and invoicing of projects.

As a Financial Analyst, reporting to the Finance Director of the Belgian entities of IBA Group, I managed the monthly closings in the SAP CO module and implemented the figures in the Group’s consolidation system (HFM). I have been in charge of the preparation of the bi-annual external audits, the follow up of the accounting standards and internal control procedures of the Group as well as the improvement and standardization of the various closing procedures and processes. Among others, I was also responsible for the establishment of reports to the business units’ financial controllers, project managers and the management (Cash flow, DSO-DSI, various KPI’s…), the comparison budget/actual for department expenses, the follow up on invoicing and payments on running projects and the setting of various provisions for commissions, intercompany billing, bad debtors and weak rotation articles.

As a Senior Auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers, I have been involved in performing audits of financial statements (under BeGaap or IFRS) as well as other aspects such as internal control (SoX missions). I participated in the planning and execution of the audit engagements and I supervised staff in teams of 2 to 5 persons, reporting the findings to senior management of both my company and my client. I have had the opportunity to work for several major Belgian and international companies in different sectors from pharmaceuticals and chemicals to automotive and advertisement.

As an intern during two months, I joined the Migration & Mass Deployment Department in which I assisted foreign SWIFT clients in their implementation of new banking hardware and software.
