Jun 2017 - Mar 2020

Land Acquisition Associate, Development Team Member

Minneapolis Office

As part of the SunShare Development Team I researched and identified 5 -40 acres sites suitable for Community Solar Gardens (CSGs). Parcel screening included substation capacity analysis, recording distribution feeder in KMZ files, reviewing zoning and extent CSG ordinances to ascertain project viability. Community solar gardens are made possible through the 2013 Minnesota Community Solar Garden legislation. This legislation was created to help Xcel energy reach its renewable energy targets as well as reduce Minnesota dependence on coal and nuclear generation. For Minnesotans CSGs offer greater energy independence - the sun shines on Minnesota, but our state lacks coal and uranium deposits. While at SunShare, I was the recipient of the "SunShare 2015 Peer Recognition Award" for the Minnesota office.

Oct 2014 - Apr 2016

Director, American Museum Of Asmat Art/Clinical Faculty

As director of the American Museum of Asmat Art at the University of St. Thomas (AMAA@UST) hired, trained, and supervised students (5 to 9 direct reports). Developed and promoted programming, and traveled to Asmat, Papua, Indonesia to learn from artists. In Asmat I gathered material about student perspectives on the rainforest environment and served on an international advisory board for the new Asmat museum. Tracked temperature, relative humidity, and light levels in the museum for the purposes of making recommendations about design and potential climate control systems. In the US I pursued training in collection care at the Campbell Center for Historic Preservation and used this training as the basis for researching and writing the AMAA@UST collection policy.Worked with OPUS architects to design the campus AMAA@UST gallery. Collaborated with graduate students and professional object handlers to create attractive, easy to modify, and durable display furniture. Developed exhibits for spaces ranging from single case displays to exhibitions for the 1,500 square foot gallery.Tracked monthly museum expenses, worked with officials on safety policy compliance, created an integrated pest management plan, mitigated changing temperature and humidity levels, digitally documented works, designed archival storage containers, and updated the museum website. Independently or with students wrote exhibition brochures, panels, and labels. Collaborated with web and media services to produced video loops for specific exhibitions.
