NICHES Land Trust works to protect, restore and sustain Northern Indiana’s ecosystems by providing habitat for native species and offering natural places for the education, appreciation and enjoyment of current and future generations. As the Deputy Director, I plan and coordinate fundraising activities to support NICHES Land Trust’s mission, I engage with individuals and businesses to share the mission of NICHES, identify and cultivate new donors and volunteers, and maintain and steward current donors and volunteers. I have created a development plan which is updated annually and engages board, staff, and volunteers around growing our capacity to meet the future needs of the organization as outlined in our 2030 strategic plan.

Identify and cultivate new donors. develop and maintain relationships with current donors. support donors throughout the year ensuring that they have the necessary education, information and materials needed to conduct successful campaigns. Recruit, educate, guide, and support volunteers. As part of the development team at United Way of Greater Lafayette, I oversaw accounts which represented close to $1 million dollars of their annual campaign.

As CEO, I was responsible for making business development decisions, sales, payroll, employee supervision, supply ordering, and efficient operation of the office. Other duties included designing, implementing, and facilitating annual marketing strategies. In just a few short years, we grew a successful and thriving business which won several community awards. Lafayette PC won several community awards including, Small Business of the Month, Small Business of the Year, and Journal and Courier's Reader's Choice Award. After winning Small Business of the Year, we had offers from several companies interested in acquiring our business and we decided to accept.

As the Business Manager for the Indiana Arborist Association, the state chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture, I collaborated with the Chapter Administrator in planning and implementing extension programming including workshops, seminars and conferences. Worked with faculty, students, and government agencies in Urban Forestry and related fields to coordinate educational opportunities for Urban Foresters. Maintained financial accounts, database, membership roster and other administrative documents.
