Preparing citizens of all ages for the era of AI. I led and developed The Algorithm and Data Literacy Project, a public awareness campaign in partnership with UNESCO, to help citizens of all ages conceptualize algorithms in the era of artificial intelligence. Now my focus is on developing the perception, responsiveness and discernment we need so that AI is amplifying our best human values, and not our worst tendencies.As part of the CanCode program under the Canadian Ministry of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, I led Code Create Teach, a series of professional development workshops delivered across Canada , and introduced computational thinking and code to teachers from every province and territory. As Co-Executive Director of Kids Code Jeunesse, I developed materials and train-the-trainer workshops for the British Columbia Ministry of Education. A Senior advisor on the Pan-Canadian K-12 Computer Science Framework, have worked on policy and curriculum recommendations with researchers from around the world. Former life as a journalist who has written for New York Times, CBC, Salon and magazines and newspapers across North America. I currently teach Tergar's Anytime, Anywhere Meditation workshop.
