I've been working freelance as a dance performer, teacher, choreographer and producer for 30 years. I've taught classes and workshops and performed my work in England, France, Italy, the Netherlands, USA, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand.

I certified with the UK Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique after training with Richard and Elizabeth Walker in Oxford, England. Dick and Elizabeth were pupils of FM Alexander. I certified with Polestar Pilates (USA), Pilates International (Australia), Performance Pilates & The Pilates Studio (NZ). I've been a Pilates mat work teacher for twenty years and a Pilates studio/equipment teacher for fourteen years.

I began working as a freelance dance producer in New Zealand in 1996. Between 1996 and 2020 I produced nineteen dance shows in New Zealand, promoting the work of national and international choreographers, composers, musicians, lighting designers and dancer/performers. Tasks included: project design and management from conception to completion, writing grant applications, managing budgets, artist liaising and management, theatre and venue liaising, studio hiring, funding allocations, organising travel and accommodation for artists, designing publicity, social media posting, organising video and film documentation, managing payments and bookings from workshop participants, managing databases, writing post project reports and more.

I was a part time Nanny over a period of ten months working privately for two children aged 5 and 8 years old. I enjoyed working as a nanny and formed a bond with the children, picking them up from school, supervising homework, organising activities, cooking dinner, reading stories, preparing for sleep time. I also taught creative movement classes for children in Thames, NZ on Saturday mornings and after school at the Waldorf school that my own three children - now grown up - attended.

I taught classes in Contact Improvisation to first, second and third year students majoring in contemporary dance at the NZ School of Dance for one year. I developed and taught lesson plans based on the students' acquisition of skills that would enable them to gain confidence in partner dancing: weight bearing and sharing; sequencing of movement; appropriate muscle use and tension; letting go of outcomes/expectations/product based thinking; learning how to engage in experiential, processed based dancing: applying these skills to choreography and performance.

During this period I also worked as a salesperson in the ladies shoe department at Harrods and wherever they needed me, and in the mens clothing department in Selfridges in London and Oxford.
