UCLA Hip Hop/Street Dance Summer Institute is offered by the UCLA Department of World Arts and Cultures/Dance, in partnership with UCLA Summer Sessions and Versa-Style: Performance • Education • Community (VS:PEC), an operating foundation dedicated to empowering young artists through Hip Hop and street dance learning. Program counselors are interviewed and selected from the UCLA Undergraduate student body, and are responsible for assisting all faculty members and lecturers, monitoring students at all times, and providing engaging evening activities.

Responsible for managing 50+ dancers, organizing and leading leadership board meetings with 10 members, creating and teaching choreography, training foundational elements of dance, and planning events. Working with ages 17-25.

5 years of teaching dance at various studios in Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego.

Maintaining a professional demeanor at all times while serving customers, establish good communication and collaboration with fellow colleagues, demonstrate advanced understanding and knowledge of the sequence of service, strategically communicate guest orders, demonstrate expert proficiency in barista work and all coffee and tea-related subject matter, and correct cash handling and gratuity distribution. Responsible for performing, collaborating with members of production crew, taking cues and instruction from choreographers and directors, memorizing complex choreography and staging, working overtime, and scheduling rehearsals. Range of weekly hours is dependent upon specific job. Responsible for learning to manage a face-to-face marketing team outsourcing to Fortune-100 companies. Resolved customer issues, greeted customers, learned sales skills and systems, taught skills back to a team of new employees.
