My name is Julio Adrian Maciel. I am a 24 year old, undergraduate student from the University of North Texas in Denton, studying to become a successful mechanical engineer. Originally, I'm from Mazatlan, Sinaloa, which is located in Mexico, but I moved to the United States when I was six years old. I graduated from Timber Creek High School in Keller,Texas. During my first year at Timber Creek, I joined the men's Soccer team and became the captain short after. A year later, I got selected to become the captain of the men's Cross Country team. I led both teams with pride til I graduated in 2013.Growing up, I have realized that I am a very competitive person. I feel that competition unlocks our true potential. Competition pushes us beyond our limits, it helps us reach new heights. It forces us to come out of our comfort zone and overcome any obstacle. I believe competition in a person creates a desire to win, succeed, and accomplish any goal in life.For work, I manage a juice store for the company Buda Juice in Dallas Texas. I’m in charge of hiring, training, and developing our brand ambassadors. I help them see themselves better than they think they are. I keep them motivated to achieve our company goals and increase their sales skills as well as people skills. Once I obtain a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, I want to work for Bystronic, to gain knowledge and to one day, further my education by getting a Masters Degree, which will open up an opportunity for me to manage my own team. I chose this profession not only because I love math and physics, but because I love building and repairing objects. I'm always excited to find out how things work; knowing that thousands of small machine parts working together operate a bigger machine, fascinates me. Anyways, have a look around!
