I have had the privilege of working as a school district leader, where I have accumulated a wealth of experience overseeing the maintenance operations of facilities, grounds, and utilities. As someone who values continuous improvement, I always seek partners to help us improve our processes and achieve better results. During my 10-year stint, I have collaborated successfully with various stakeholders, such as partners, vendors, communities, staff, and administration, resulting in enhanced safety and support, as well as reduced waste and costs across 72 sites. My expertise lies in developing, implementing, and managing sustainable school programs that revolve around energy use, inspection, cleaning, construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings, facilities, grounds, and equipment. I am also proficient in both English and Spanish.Mill Valley School DistrictAs the Director of Maintenance, Operations, and Safety, my key achievements include developing a maintenance, operations, and safety plan for six school sites, managing 20 employees, and developing emergency preparedness and safety plans. I am also responsible for managing the District 194 Million Bond program, which covers the construction of the Mill Valley Middle School project and the modernization of five Elementary school sites. Additionally, I prepared school sites for the return of students and staff after the COVID-19 mandatory shutdowns.In my role as the Executive Director at WCCUSD, I managed a routine maintenance work order system that covered 72+ education facilities, including facilities, grounds, custodial, and district vehicles. I also led project management, implementation, and analytics that reduced energy, waste, and water usage in all 72 facilities. Furthermore, I developed and managed a $17M budget that improved staffing and addressed routine and deferred maintenance. I brought the district into 100% compliance with EPA drinking water rules, collaborated with East Bay MUD to test all District drinking sources for lead, and made required repairs. I also directed Williams Law and Fire Department inspections that achieved 100% compliance with Good Repair Standards and ensured safe and functional school facilities.
