I work in the Martti Ahtisaari Institute in collaboration with Faculty of Medicine, focusing on the commercialization and product development of a new drug formulation. In this project we are developing a new drug formulation addressing issues such as arthritis.

Currently I am leading and coordinating a Business Finland funded €5.6m project "Stroke-Data". I am responsible for coordinating and managing collaborative activities between all the consortium parties and also the central contact point for Business Finland on behalf of the project. We have University of Oulu and VTT as the key research partners in the project closely working with OYS and KYS for clinical data collection. There are 9 healthcare technology companies involved in the project: Innokas Medical, Bittium, Haltian, Everon, Predicell, Vetrea Terveys, Optomed, Bitfactor and Invenco.The project aims to bring digitalized solutions in the fields of Stroke diagnostics, treatment, rehabilitation and tertiary prevention. Besides research on business models and innovation in the future digital health context, my project management role includes planning and scheduling tasks for the project and following up with individual stakeholders.Besides leading the Stroke-Data Project, I am working on building new project consortium for Business Finland and EU Horizon programs.

Research topic: Exploring connected health business ecosystems through business models.Area of interest: Digital health, Healthcare, public health, cybersecurity, 5G, project management.During this period I was involved in various projects and was responsible for managing various time-sensitive deliverables. Some of those projects are: Icory Project (Funded by Business Finland), Internet of Things (Funded by Tekes), CyberTrust-(National Cybersecurity project funded under the Digile Shock program), Wireless lab for health businesses' ecosystemic proliferation (Wille project, funded by Business Finland), MIDAS project (EU H2020 project on DSS for public health policy formulation).

Visiting researcher at the IESE Business School, University of Navarra. This visit is intended to explore areas for further potential collaboration. Initial collaborations started with the Center for Globalization and Strategy, and Center for Research in Healthcare Innovation Management.As a consequence of this research visit, I will initially continue collaborating with the Center for Globalization and Strategy in an EU research project focusing in the area of smart cities. In this task we aim to look at how business models can be replicated from a scalability perspective.

As a Research Assistant, I helped with managing and coordinating different activities in the research project titled "Internet of Things". I also collected qualitative data for my master's thesis during this part-time employment.

Network of International Students in Oulu NISO ry is the central voluntary student body focused to the well-being and betterment of all international degree students residing in the city of Oulu, Finland. NISO organizes numerous events which includes cultural, educational, sports, games, socializing, personal development and many more. NISO also collaborates with different organizations in arranging different events focused towards international students. My roles as a President at NISO have included:- Design the annual event calendar- Arrange funding for organizing events- Help in event organizing- Administrative works- Special attention been paid to expand NISO as a brand to increase international students' visibility.

They are looking for an innovative way to build a business model around video usage and how to monetize the video stream other than advertisements. In this project, we are looking into how to scale the usage of the stream in local population and how to popularize it. The product this team designed as a solution for the problem handed, is a combination of a webpage and a mobile app for video sharing and editing. The overall business model is designed to act as a catalyst to create a sense of stronger community and community building within the whole Northern Finland. Proposed demo was licensed by the partner company . On the other hand, among 7 other projects that were being handled in the Autumn 2014 in Demola Oulu, Team Kanava were titled as the winners by Jury and in the final pitching Competition and also won the people's choice award. Julius Gomes presented the final demo for the graduation pitch on behalf of the team alongwith Nora Massinen.
