Since I remember, I have always been curious, lover and hobbyist of electrical/electronic circuits and wireless data transmissions. More recently, an Engineer, M.Sc. (Master of Science), developer and researcher who seeks to insert/create new technologies in automation products in the Internet of Things (IoT) scenario and work with its consequent "side effects": big data, industry 4.0, artificial intelligence and others. I experience the evolution of the embedded systems sector in the world and I realize each year the constant need to make the hardware cleaner, cheaper, more reliable and with better performance. My first 8-bit microcontrollers that I worked 10 years ago were losing space to my recent 32-bit microcontrollers with RTOS and Embedded Linux processors. As the "things" started to "speak", the last years have guided me to IEEE 802.11 (WiFi) networks with application to microcontrollers, in which I am a developer and programmer, providing the "things" the way to reach the clouds (cloud computing). All of this in an encrypted environment (TLS), of course, since the hackers are increasingly looking at "things" as an amusement park and no longer just interested in computers and servers only as before. Lightweight M2M communication protocols like MQTT and middleware have crossed my path to help me make it all work, securely ensuring remote access and firmware updates. More recently, mesh networks entered the scene in my routine through the launch of Bluetooth 5. With the extrapolation of the horizons of WLANs, I also started the adventures with LPWAN through SIGFOX. I feel a lot of satisfaction when I see pieces of my work in genuinely Brazilian products spread across America continent and the world. Anyway, I think I'm being useful in some way.
