From Knowle West to Westminster, I’m an award winning Creativist inspired to creatively use the tools of activism to co-create with organisations, groups and other like-minded change-makers keen to advance diversity and social change for a better world for all. Over my 20+ year career, some of my proudest adventures in creative courage include:For the Home Office, devising a 3-year award winning anti-knife crime campaign that empowered young people to think twice about picking-up a knife. For the NHS, delivering an award-winning behavioral change strategy that increased BAME blood donation via peer to peer, advocacy and outreach. For the Arts Council, the production of a turnaround strategy for St Pauls Carnival following its core funding being withdrawn. Funding was reinstated to a new body with a 40% uplift in time to deliver its 50th. As an Arts Officer hard-wiring diversity into Bristol's Cultural Investment Program, a £850K strategic pot that funded a record number of first time applicants from diverse backgrounds. As Station Manager for Ujima Radio winning a National Diversity Award and becoming the UK’s Best Community radio station via an innovative mix of social action program, training, talent incubation and project consultancy. And in-between all of this finding time to teach Jamie Oliver a thing or two about how to cook and re-invent classic Guyanese dishes for his Jamie Great British program.
