In 2004 Bradford College and the University of Bradford's in house design and reprographic functions merged into one and became the limited company Inprint+Design, jointly owned by both institutions.I was offered the role of Studio Manager taking my role from the Public Relations & Marketing Department at Bradford College with me and utilized all the skills I had acquired from my previous positions on a day to day basis providing a total graphic design solution to both Bradford College, the University of Bradford and private clients alike. Plus points included updating the design teams skills to include CMS for client websites, the creation of animated flash files for online use and the design and build of e marketing campaigns using online tools like Mailchimp.With a fully intergrated print production facility within Inprint+Design utilising the latest eco friendly litho printers and on demand high volume digital printers, large format output, exhibition displays and bespoke finishing services which I had an active role of supporting as well as web to print and web design and build services myself and the team were well equipped to respond to the rapidly changing design, print & web sector. Other acheivements in the role including the training and support of a team of graphic designers and to build on and follow a code of best practice in their wellbeing and continuing professional development.

Promotional designer working independently from a studio environment within a Public Relations & Marketing Department. I was appointed to the post to address the College’s need for coherent and strong visual marketing and recruitment campaigns as well as updating and maintaining the corporate style and the promotion of the various departments within the College.This role also required me to expand my knowledge into the areas of public relations and marketing and to contribute and then develop ideas visually for campaigns and student recruitment drives on a daily basis with the rest of the marketing team. This role also included frequent contact with print reps, commissioning and art direction of external photographers and campaign repro houses for product production from personalized mail drops of over 350,000+ to public transport posters and 4, 6, 8 and 48 sheet billboard hordings.

Managing junior designers in a very fast paced commercial studio environment, with a 70/30 split in my role with 70% being ‘hands on’ using Apple Mac systems and software (Quark Xpress, Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Freehand, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office) I quickly had to manage and maintain workflows for quick turnarounds often working to very tight deadlines. The role encompassed creative concepts, copywriting, magazine and press advert design and corporate identity creation. As this was a small agency all our work had to be placed with external printers for outputting and production with whom I liaised with on a daily basis.

Part of a small team of graphic designers using the industry standard applications of the day (Aldus Pagemaker, QuarkXpress, Adobe Photoshop and Aldus Freehand) on Applemac workstations.Responsibilities included the creation of all the Universities publicity, from glossy departmental brochures, reports, newsletters, posters, exhibition displays and distance learning materials to the creation of graphics for the web and the design of the visual style and navigation of web sites. I was also responsible for liaising with printers, both external and internal as well as typesetting bureaus and large format output companies on a daily basis.
