High Temperature Steam Biomass Gasification• Designed and built the high temperature steam gasification system and numerically simulated resulted synthesis gas composition by chemical equilibrium model.• Developed a Labview program to monitior and record the sensor measurements of the gasification system including the temperatures across the reactor, the generated synthesis gas flow rate, and the gas composition readings from a mass spectrometer.• Performed the gasification experiment 60 times with wood, sewage sludge, municipal solid waste, plastics, and tires as feedstock. • Analyzed the experimental data by Matlab and evaluated the process in terms of carbon conversion and energy efficiency.• Troubleshot the broken Mass Spectrometer sampling line by replacing the clogged sampling line and set up operating procedures to avoid this malfunction.• Simulated the two-phase turbulent reactive transient flow inside a cylindrical gasifier by Ansys Fluent and compared the simulation results with the experiment results.
