I am responsible for analysis, financial reporting, forecasting of cash flow of project budget. This includes payment recording, verification and ensuring the strict compliance with the payments policies and regulations. With this role, I also review developmental actions proposals from financial and operational point of view and liaise closely with stakeholders to ensure completeness of proposals. In this role, I provide analytics to support Management’s decision making with tools such as Excel and FI@Gov (internal data analytics tool) on voluminous data. Over the past two years, SPS have achieved fund utilization near 100% as forecasted and was awarded the Singapore Quality Award with Special Commendation (SQASC) in 2019. The SQASC is the pinnacle accolade accorded to organisations that exemplify business excellence at the national level. Specifically, the SQASC recognises past SQA winners for scaling greater heights of business excellence and for demonstrating sustainable global leadership. I am also the team lead in Fixed Asset reporting and management for SPS in accordance to FRS16 PPE and Government Instruction Manuals. This role required in-depth accounting and system knowledge, acquired during my studies and work experience in the Big Four accounting firm (EY),for accurate and complete management of the fixed asset books. This include maintaining accruals and capitalisation. I am also involved in maintenance of the Fixed Asset Policy, which is currently under review to set proper compliance.I am the Assistant Treasurer of Prison Sports and Recreation Club. I am the team lead for the creation of the current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure internal controls and business efficiency of the club. As Assistant Treasurer, I am responsible for maintenance of the monthly accounts and ensure efficacy at the treasury level.

I managed tax compliance and advisory matters for 70 companies using the in-house tax system. In my role as tax associate, I am required to apply my financial knowledge (acquired from studies) of tax, financial process, and Singapore FRS to maximize tax advantage for companies on a timely and professional manner. During this journey, I expanded my accounting and tax knowledge vastly due to exposure to different industries such as investment holding to oil and gas. As a testament to my achievement in EY, I was proudly awarded the Singapore REAL Award as a member of the EY’s in-house tax system team for outstanding contributions to the tax system. This involved hours spent on system discussion, designing and testing to ensure robustness and accuracy of the system.
