Develop next-generation CAR T Cell therapy for patients with liquid and solid tumors, allowing for multiplexing, titration, and modularity to deliver superior safety and efficacy to cancer patients.
Cancer Research Institute (Cri) - Dr. Keith Landesman Memorial Research Fellow
• Improving the delivery and efficacy of CAR T cells in pediatric and adult brain tumors.• Reprogramming the tumor microenvironment to improve immunotherapy of glioblastoma.
Research Fellow
• Develop effective therapies for pediatric ependymoma
American Heart Association (Aha) Research Fellow
Research Interests:• Pathogenesis of restenosis and aneurysm• Inflammatory chemokines involved intimal hyperplasia and aneurysm• Cross talk among smooth muscle cells, endothelial cells, adventitial cells, and circulating progenitor cells• Endothelial progenitor cells and circulating angiogenic cells • Gene (viral and non-viral) and Cell therapyResearch Projects:My projects focus on elucidating the mechanism underlying vascular smooth muscle cells-mediated injury response. Specifically, my study is to understand how stressed vascular smooth muscle cells cross talk with vascular wall cells and circulating cells in order to orchestrate vascular injury response using angioplasty models, and develope gene and cell therapies to speed up recovery of blood vessels.
Research Assistant
My major research has been focused on the pathogenesis of vascular diseases including intimal hyperplasia and aneurysm. Specifically, I focus on chemokines expression, cross-talk among smooth muscle cells, endothelial cells, adventitial cells, and circulating progenitor cells during neointima formation in vitro and in vivo. In addition, I also put my effort to develop gene therapies against intimal hyperplasia using polyelectrolyte multilayers/DNA-coated catheter balloons, and cell therapy for a speedy recovery of injured blood vessels.
Research Assistant
Research projects: • Regulation of the Legionella pneumophila Dps homolog by iron and involved during multiple stress tolerance.• The role of effector protein (LegK3) of Legionella pneumophila between pathogen-host interaction.• Characterization of the LysR-type transcriptional regulator LpvcR of Legionella pneumophila.
