2022 - 2023• Led FlexTouch’s materials R&D team of over 10 R&D engineers on next-generation technologies in metal mesh touch sensor, hybrid copper foil for current collector in Li-ion batteries, and metallized glass for Mini-LED. 10+ patent applications.• Managed the core development efforts with cross functional teams on various projects including ultrasmall metal mesh (< 2µm), high performance Pd nanoparticles catalyst, highly reliable optical coating, metallization on new optical substrate including COP, OKP, and PMMA, etc., to strengthen FlexTouch’s lead position in flexible metal mesh product.• Responsible for expanding FlexTouch’s technological expertise through partnership with universities, development of future leaders, and strategical recruitment; managing FlexTouch’s Intellectual Property portfolio. 2020 - 2022• Successfully developed materials and process for the production metal mesh with size less than 2.5 µm to address Morrie defects in OLED applications and identified materials solutions for metal mesh-based touch sensor to qualify for VESA True Black certification.• Built and managed a multidisciplinary team of over 40 engineers with expertise in materials R&D, manufacturing process, equipment technology, and yield enhancement. Developed 5+ line managers for key production sections and 4 R&D managers for production support and new technology development.• Led FlexTouch's efforts on materials R&D including coating formulation development, materials synthesis, and raw materials validation supporting the fabrication of flexible metal mesh touch display sensor. 20+ patent applications.• Led equipment installation, manufacturing process setup, process tuning, and quality improvement including roll-to-roll coating, UV exposure, and electroless Cu plating to drive product yield from 0% to over 90%, and had product successfully validated by brand customers with the first mass production order delivered for Lenovo Yoga 7 2-in-1 laptop.

• Led the efforts on process improvement in a LEAN manufacturing environment to improve quality, reduce cycle time, and increase production capacity. Applied Six Sigma methodologies to increase the production capacity of a flagship product by 40%.• Managed Sashco’s QA/QC team and oversaw the team’s efforts on driving formulation and process improvement through statistical data analysis.• Developed and executed quarterly and annual production plan; applied LEAN principles to deliver product on time while reducing cost.

• Led the efforts on improving the quality of UV curable coating which contributed to increasing the yield of Cu-mesh based touch sensors from 40% to over 70%.• Led a group of two chemists and eight engineering technicians/operators for photoresist coating production on a state-of-the-art roll-to-roll coating machine that enables double-sided deposition of total six coatings in a single pass.• Managed weekly production plan, operating schedule, and raw materials supply.

• Led process development and optimization for the commercialization of Plating on Glass technology that enables glass interposer application for advanced packaging.• Developed both waterborne and solvent-borne non-etching adhesion promoters that enable direct metallization at glass surface and drove the manufacturing process development efforts.• Developed and launched a glass cleaning product that enables deposition of high-quality thin films at glass surface.

• Worked closely with QC group, manufacturing team, and field application engineers for the development and launch of silver nanowires (Ag NW) based flexible transparent conductive films (TCF) for application in touch display sensor.• Developed scalable Ag NW coating formulation for roll-to-roll fabrication of TCFs with exceptional conductance and superior optical performance and led the manufacturing scale-up efforts.• Led the root cause analysis of point defects in multilayer precision coatings, which resulted in one million USD investments in improving manufacture facility.

• Developed nanostructured metal, metal alloy, and metal oxide/carbide/nitride/phosphide for enhancing the performance of photovoltaic, thermal energy storage, water splitting, and catalysis.• Developed scalable ultrasonic spray coating fabrication approach for low-cost and earth abundant Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) thin film solar cells from reactive molecular inks.• Applied facile wet chemical synthesis approaches for the preparation of size and composition tunable pyrite (FeS2) nanoparticles for thin film photovoltaic.
