Our group has been working on identifying and understanding the biology of novel targets that are differentially expressed or dysregulated by tumors cells or immune cells, and generating high-quality monoclonal antibodies against them. The goal is to bring these reagents into clinical trials to evaluate their efficacy on patients likely to benefit.• Established and validated an unbiased loss-of-function in vivo screen system (RNAi or CRISPR/Cas9 based) to identify novel immune checkpoint genes for effector T cells.• Successfully set up CAR-T platform. Skilled in CAR-T generation/expansion/functional analysis. CAR-T cells against a novel target showed dramatic in vitro/in vivo activities, and are under extensive preclinical studies.• Leading a project on an agonistic immune-checkpoint.• Established and validated an affinity purification protocol to identify ligands/receptors for a given surface protein expressed on immune cells.

Led a team to have Identified a couple of novel regulators for CD8+ T cells, which are under further characterization as potentials therapeutic targets.Successfully established an in vitro CRISPR/Cas9 based system to identify sensitizers to radiotherapy genome wide for radiation resistant lung cancer cells.
