I’ve worked for KTL(Korea Testing Laboratory) located in Seoul, Republic of Korea as a chief researcher and team leader with the 32 years experience on the energy performance testing and analysis of appliances since I had a Master degree and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Yonsei Graduate School. I was working for NIST, Department of Commerce, US and LBNL, UC Califonia. I have been involved in the development of energy efficiency S&L of household appliances in Korea such as air-conditioner, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher and etc, and also conducted a study on the analysis of refrigerating & air-conditioning equipment industry and its forecasting supervising and testing for performance of refrigerator, freezer and air-conditioner. I have published many reports widely in Asian countries emphasis on energy efficiency standards and labeling programs. And, I was responsible for a chief secretariat and project manager, Buildings and Appliances Task Forces, Asia-Pacific Partnership on clean development and climate, which was founded in 2006 to meet goals for energy security, national air pollution reduction, and climate change in ways that promote sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction for 7 counties, Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, Korea, and the United States, and also an energy expert member of APEC Energy Working Group, a member of KSME and ASHRAE as well as a consultative committee of KEMCO to support Korean energy efficiency S&L program. I have also been in charge of a convener of ISO TC86 SC6 WG10 to develop a new energy performance standard of energy recovery ventilator. Currently I am a chair of SEAD Commercial Refrigeration Collaboration Group, and a meber of IEC SMB SG1 "Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy".
