I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Computer Engineering at COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus. With a strong foundation in programming languages like C++ and Python, I have also developed a growing expertise in areas such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN).As part of my academic and professional journey, I am actively working on my final year project (FYP), which involves designing and integrating an accelerator with the RISC-V processor using the SweRV EH1 core. This project, in collaboration with NECOP, allows me to apply my knowledge in RISC-V architecture, embedded systems, and hardware-software co-design to solve real-world problems in the industry.During my internship at NECOP, I gained hands-on experience in industrial-grade projects, further strengthening my understanding of hardware design and system integration.   During my internship at NECOP, I had the opportunity to work on my Final Year Project (FYP), which focused on RISC-V architecture—a completely new area for our team. This experience involved completing 20 RISC-V FPGA-based labs, which were instrumental in building a solid foundation in hardware design and digital system concepts.Key Highlights:Hands-On Learning: Engaging in these labs allowed me to gain practical insights into the AXI4 bus protocol, essential for efficient communication between the processor and peripherals. This foundational knowledge is vital for designing high-performance embedded systems.Nexys A7-100T Board: Working extensively with the Nexys A7-100T board, I became proficient in configuring and programming this FPGA platform. This experience reinforced my understanding of FPGA technology and its applications in real-world projects.Vivado Design Suite and ModelSim: I developed skills in Vivado, mastering the synthesis and implementation of designs, along with simulation and debugging processes. Additionally, I gained experience with ModelSim, enhancing my ability to simulate Verilog code effectively.Overcoming Challenges: The transition to RISC-V architecture presented challenges, but through collaborative problem-solving and determination, our team successfully navigated these obstacles, deepening our understanding of core concepts.Verilog Coding: I learned the intricacies of Verilog coding, which was essential for implementing our designs and interfacing with the core systems used in our project.This internship not only equipped me with valuable technical skills but also fostered a collaborative environment where I learned to adapt and innovate. The practical experience gained at NECOP has significantly prepared me for future endeavors in embedded systems and FPGA development.
