Junaid KC is a sociocultural anthropologist, and Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Mountain Tourism and Hospitality Studies, HNB Garhwal Central University. He holds a Master’s degree in both Tourism Management and Anthropology from Pondicherry University. His research interests focus on Tourism Carrying Capacity, Entrepreneurship in tourism, Community-driven tourism planning and HRD in the Tourism sector. Specialized in ethnography, netnographic techniques and currently focused on ‘Tourism and Education/HRD in the Malabar region of Kerala’. He has published several research papers in Web of Science, UGC Care Listed and peer-reviewed journals and presented research results in international and national level conferences and seminars. beyond his academic pursuits, Junaid KC is a co-founder of Pupuzo, a social initiative focused on empowering diverse communities in the rural and accessible tourism sectors. Pupuzo's mission is to create welcoming environments that enrich the lives of both local and visiting communities. By promoting sustainability and inclusivity, the organization strives to make travel and tourism enriching for everyone. Pupuzo is dedicated to supporting rural tourism stakeholders to ensure sustainable development and is committed to making travel and tourism accessible to all, regardless of physical or intellectual limitations, disabilities, or age.
