Coordinating the day to day running of the museum, taking into account the needs of the visitors/users and colleagues including direct responsibility for the development and implementation of the Museum’s customer service strategy.Responsibility for Front of House staff and cleaner including rotas, reception desk staffing, cleaning of the museum and supervision of staff.Maintain Gamma system (entrance fees, products etc.)Implementing the fire evacuation and health and safety policy for the museum building.Health & Safety representative.Direct responsibility for security of the museum building, gallery and front of house.Responsibility for the maintenance of the museum building including plant equipment. Direct responsibility for shop sales, stock control and ordering.Direct responsibility for CRB checks.Direct responsibility for museum bookings ensuring that everything is logged onto the system and amendments are made as soon as possible.

Provide secretarial support to the Museum’s Director and Chairman. Answering public enquiries. Membership secretary for the Friends of the Wedgwood Museum; tasks include updating database, processing memberships and producing quarterly newsletter.Health and safety representative.Recently leading the cataloguing and documentation of the Museum collection.Main duties in this role: Fully accessioning and cataloguing pieces to Spectrum standards and use of standardised terminologies. Reporting on object condition and liaising with outsourced conservation services. Ensuring object location data is accurate and that objects are correctly stored to recognised museum standards. Reporting on environmental conditions. Ensuring museum stores are audited for Health and Safety purposes.Involved with security and main key holder.Involvement with the packaging and couriering of objects.Employing best practice throughout my duties.

After joining the Wedgwood Group I have progressed from the role of Junior Clerk, VDU Operator, Shipping Administrator, Post Room Supervisor, all the way through to the PA to the Managing Director. During this time I have developed my administrative and transferable skills. These include:The day-to-day running of the office, arranging overseas travel, secretarial support, responsibility for other secretarial staff, customer care, dealing with external companies, maintaining all faxes and photocopiers belonging to the Wedgwood Group and data entry.
