For my master's thesis I conducted research on the topic of automatic threat detection in input images before the escalation stadium is reached. I used the gained insights to develop a system ('BAYONET') that assigns a risk factor to input images. This risk factor describes in what measure an image depicts a future threat and is primarily based on:• the interpretation of possible evidence found in the input image by an OWL ontology;• the combination of the relevant pieces of evidence by a Bayesian network.The goal of this research was to make preventive measures more effective.
