CAMPUS MANAGER: CATERING AND SPECIAL EVENTS I manage a high profile client’s Catering Department at multiple locations throughout the Washington Metropolitan DC area. I have been the lead planner, designer and logistics expert for the client’s two annual showcase events; one with over 10,000 plus guests and the other for a large group of high-level VIP attendees. I successfully interacted and collaborated with a large group of volunteers, staff, C-level executives, security, protocol and ranking officials to ensure the vision and quality of the events not only met but exceeded expectation from a number of departments. This success resulted in the client requesting their next event expand on my creative and managed design.I have hired, trained and supervised additional managers in venue catering areas ensuring their focus and goals were to provide the highest standard of service, follow safety protocols for product and procedures, complete weekly accounting reports for GSI’s Corporate Accounting Office and generate sales. My development and implementation of sales goals have resulted in increasing revenue by 10% in less than a quarter. In addition to building partnerships with the facilities’ teams, venders, clients, and staff at all the location, I supported other departments within GSI through negotiating vender contracts, terms and conditions, security requirements and pricing.

As project manager for events, I personally managed the scope, schedule and budget for a number of events each year plus planning and negotiating contracts for future events years in advance. These projects included managing groups of individuals, in some cases of 20 or more, for a substantial period of time. The events were throughout the US and involved interacting with the various WTS Chapter leaders across the United States, managing Board Meetings and managing the WTS Annual Conference at selected U.S. cities. In my creative designer role, I provided the "WOW" experience at the Annual Awards Gala from theme selection, decor design, entertainment and sponsor branding. Through creative implementation and focus on sponsorship marketing, I archived earlier sponsorship commitments and increased revenue. The resulting success was a 100% increase in Conference attendance.Through my logistics expertise I lead and developed event strategies, managed multi-day event schedules and budgets, analyzed and improved the event programs, and created a dynamic informative experience for WTS members, corporate partners and sponsors. I routinely interacted with C-level executives, ranking government officials involved in the transportation industry and a diverse set of high profile keynote speakers. This entailed building partnerships and long-term relationships with business owners, WTS Chapter leaders and members, and numerous professionals within the transportation industry across the U.S. I directed all aspects of the WTS' local and destination events including selection, contracting and negotiation with hotels, venues, caterers, audio visuals, equipment rentals, transportation, special event companies, keynote speaker agencies, other supporting event vendors and collaborated with security and protocol offices for high profile VIP individuals attending WTS events.
