Esther Community Enterprise (ECE) are recipients of the highest award given to voluntary groups the Queens Award for Voluntary Service (MBE) This prestigious UK National Honor recognises outstanding voluntary contributions and sets the national benchmark for excellence in volunteering, and as such is equivalent in status to the MBE Our mission statement "Giving purpose to surplus" involves the distribution of food supplies, grocery/household and clothing items to those within the community that is disadvantaged and socially excluded. ECE redirects food that would have been landfill to those who needs it most. Main duties, supervision of over 70 projects nationwide due to contract with Waitrose and other sponsor retailers. ECE feeds in excess of 40,000 people per month, and this is rapidly on the increase. We have over 600 plus volunteers across the UK, including short-term missionaries that represent over 86 countries worldwide.
