My responsibilities include establish and provides strategic director for Prince George’s Community College’s Center forEntrepreneurial Development; establishes strategic partnerships with corporate, government and business leaders to position theCenter as an entrepreneurial hub and key stakeholder in economic development opportunities; and oversee entrepreneurial and capacity-building programs for local, small and minority businessenterprises.

Provide strategic direction and leadership to workforce development programs related to construction and sustainability. Develop and manage skilled trades certification and training programs. Manage the Westphalia Training Center and the Skilled Trades Center at Prince George's Community College.

Develop and coordinate entreprenuerial development trainings and programs for small and minority-owned business enterprises. Develop partnerships with Prime Contractors and Procurement Officials to open opportunities for small and minority businesses to do business with government agencies and government sponsored projects in Prince George's County and in the Washington Metropolitan area.

• Develop the communications and community outreach strategy for the Local Contractor Development Program (LCDP). Create, coordinate, and direct social media efforts. Create and disseminate information to small businesses, stakeholders, and community groups. The official spokesperson for all interviews and presentations. Point of Contact for all State and City Officials.• Direct the LCDP’s online community and social media networks. Create and oversee blogger activities, tweets, and Facebook. Develop outreach events for minority and women-owned businesses.• Create public and private partnerships with General Contractors and resource providers to expand outreach efforts, funding opportunities, and program development to help minority businesses build capacity.

• Created communication plans that served as a blueprint for all community relations activities and community outreach efforts, and coordinated outreach activities and media events.• Consulted on public reactions to change management activities and proposed policies. Identified communication needs, and wrote press releases and featured articles for local newspapers to promote products and services. • Wrote and edited content for marketing materials and website.

• Developed the internal and external communication plan for the U.S. Department of Interior’s FBMS project.• Established and maintained communication between the Department of the Interior and stake holders, community groups, and employees.• Created presentations and a monthly newsletter to report on the status of the project to stakeholders, Senior Executives, and policy advisors in monthly board meetings.

• Developed the Office of Administration (OA) communication strategy for both internal and external audiences, and created innovative community relations programs and campaigns to promote awareness for biotechnology programs (such as the NITAAC Hour on WTOP federalnewsradio.com).• Coordinated media events, trade shows, and interviews for government officials. Wrote press releases, articles for trade publications, and content for the website.• Managed a team of 8 employees.

• Appointed as the Community Affairs Specialist that worked directly with the Director of Public Affairs to facilitate and coordinate with the media on the Elian Gonzales custody dispute. • Liaison to local and national media for senior officials, and developed press materials for the media and the immigration community.• Created and managed training videos to instruct new Community Relations Specialist on how to facilitate and mediate community meetings and forums addressing local immigration issues.• Identified communication needs and developed information materials that informed groups of INS policies, programs, and services.
