Extensive background in college-textbook editing and project development from acquisition and contract signing through publication. Full-time college textbook editor for over ten years at Worth Publishers in New York. Was then recruited to relocate to San Francisco to create and oversee College Textbook division for W. H. Freeman and Company (title: Director of Developmental Editing). There I had complete responsibility for hiring editors, assigning projects, and managing all editorial work on textbooks to insure quality and see that that deadlines were met. While raising my family, took on numerous long-term freelance editing projects, including working side-by-side with Christopher Reeve on his autobiography, STILL ME (I am thanked in the book) and handling new editions of physics textbooks and study guides for which I had been the first-edition editor. Have helped numerous students craft essays for college graduate school applications, edited and reorganized a doctoral thesis in Clinical Psychology. Rewrote the English version of a Holocaust manuscript for an author whose first language was Hebrew.
