Rebranded, strengthened, expanded, and strategically positioned this small, relatively unknown group into the premier Asian American arts service organization in the country.Planning & positioning: led the organization through 18–month, intensive strategic planning and board development process; extended outreach 3x; represented the Asian American community nationally at conferences, on advisory committees, task forces, panels, and meetings.Programmatic: established and directed a grants and technical assistance initiative to strengthen a critical mass of New York City–based Asian American arts/community groups; organized first national Asian American arts conference; oversaw the expansion of in–house production from 16 to 26 publications yearly.Administrative & financial: increased budget almost eightfold and systematized the finances; enlarged paid staff from 1 to 8; moved the office from a subsidized, shared space to commercial offices.
