In that way, when John is addressing a group, he's not simply facilitating as a speaker and leader, but as a friend and ally who you feel is in your corner. I had the opportunity to meet John when I was a member of Entrepreneurs' Organization Dallas. As I transitioned out of my business, and into the Executive Director role with EO Dallas, I suddenly went from colleague of John, to staff member lucky enough to be in a position to leverage his immense talents for the betterment of all our members. At our recent all-chapter retreat, John facilitated a program he called "Losing Our Minds Together." What I loved most about his presentation - and what I see in the feedback reflected by other members - is that John took some topics that may be considered "traditional" business topics, and *seamlessly* blended it with topics that dove deep into the human mind, our state of being, and our existential pathways through life. I have seen many, many speakers try to thread similar needles, and rarely do they succeed. But, John's careful attention to intention made everyone instantly feel comfortable, and willing to be vulnerable to new ideas, and new ways of thinking. He combined moments of leading us, with breakout discussions, breath work, and body movement in such a way that everyone was able to take something away from what he shared. I always admired John for his intelligence and his sincerity, but now I respect him and wholeheartedly endorse him as a speaker and facilitator.
