With over 10 years of research experience and a dual-degree Ph.D. in civil and environmental engineering, I am a postdoctoral researcher at Korea University and a leader in membrane-based environmental engineering. My core competencies include membrane separations, carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), electrochemistry, and hydrogen production.My mission is to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for water and energy challenges and to collaborate with other researchers and stakeholders to advance the science and technology in this field. I lead a project on developing a next-generation low-energy, high-efficiency CCUS system by integrating stripping and conversion processes using electrochemical membrane contactors. This project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create valuable products from carbon dioxide. I have also worked on developing electrically conductive membrane distillation for zero liquid discharge by mitigating inorganic scaling and on developing membrane distillation crystallization for shale gas produced water treatment. I have published multiple peer-reviewed papers and patents in these fields, and I am eager to contribute to the global environmental goals and the circular economy.
