Specific duties include:- Member of the Hospital Never Events Quality & Patient Care Committee where a multidisciplinary team of clinical staff from the Manning Base Hospital come together and discuss safety issues which occur on wards and ensure near-misses and errors are appropriately prevented.- Involvement in audits e.g. audit of the use of broad spectrum cephalosporins in the hospital, participation in the National Antimicrobial Prescribing Survey- Author of health documents e.g. local drug administration procedures, pharmacist chart annotation procedure, local electrolyte replacement policy- Providing drug information for patients, nurses, doctors and allied health professionals- Provision of medications as per NSW Medication Handling Policy and supervision of the dispensary; this includes detecting and preventing harmful drug interactions and adverse reactions as well as medication errors through evaluation of inpatient medication charts- Involvement in clozapine coordination (monitoring and dispensing) - As a member of a multidisciplinary team, provide integrated care with consultation with other health care professionals including Aboriginal liaison officers, assuring continuity of information upon discharge by providing medication lists for the patient, GP, community pharmacy and the nursing homes.
