Disaster Housing Inspector
CurrentVIS Disaster Inspectors are independent contractors who can be deployed when a disaster (i.e. – fire, flood, hurricane earthquake, tornado, etc.) has occurred and there has been a disaster declaration. The length of deployments for disaster declarations vary based on size and the amount of damage caused by the event.Experienced Disaster Housing Inspector that performed a variety of tasks:• Verified ownership and occupancy of damaged homes.• Recorded damages of the interior and exterior of damaged dwellings.• Selected viewed damages from a list of disaster related losses.• Supplied at my own expense needed items such as o Tools (standard tape measure, rolling tape measure, clip board, notecards) o Safety clothing and/or equipment (safety glasses, safety boots)• Worked 7 days a week during a deployment, often longer than 10 hours a day• Scheduled and organize your own appointments• Electronically submitted expenses and timesheets on a weekly basis
