Special Education Paraprofessional / Occupational Therapy Assistant
As a special educational paraprofessional you are instructed to help out classrooms from the school you are designated to attend to. As a paraprofessional your range of skills and abilities will very due to the mental capabilities and severity of the child on the spectrum. As a Occupational Therapist Assistant you will travel from school site to school site to see certain students on the spectrum. You will either call the teacher for the student or you will walk to the classroom to retrieve the student to the area of work for occupational therapy. You will provide everything the therapist needs so the session between student and therapist runs smoothly and making sure the student stays on task while working with the therapist.
