About Juniper C.

Currently, I hold the position of Nursing Professional Development Specialist where I onboard, educate and maintain all perioperative new hires. I work with them to obtain and maintain required documentation, ongoing competencies and annual training requirements. A large part of my role involves responding to inquiries, troubleshooting problems, requesting materials and data, meeting deadlines and maintaining and updating spreadsheets. I also create specific educational documents and training based on the needs of both staff, and clinical patient care needs. I use adult learning theories and evidence-based practice to design meaningful content with measurable learning objectives and outcomes.I have previously held clinical RN positions in pediatric cardiovascular perioperative care, acute care, PACU and Emergency Department units.Prior to becoming an RN, I obtained an MA degree in Adult Education and worked as an adult educator and curriculum/course designer at various colleges and universities both international and domestic. I also worked as a project manager where I developed strong research, writing and management skills. My previous background and experience in adult education, writing, research, project management, combined with my current position as a Professional Development Specialist uniquely positions me for a number of job roles within healthcare industry. My current interests include clinical research and clinical trials.
