The team is responsible for maintaining major caching services at Facebook including Tao (social graph cache), memcache (before team split) and a single-replica feature storage service for ranking. I operate as a generalist and fixer on team, covers the following.* Reliability & Efficiency** Investigate production problems on service, host, fleet** Develop and deploy fixes or remediation for production issues** Performance tuning related to service, different hardware SKU and kernel settings** Regression debugging* Automation** Streamline service, OS, firmware and kernel upgrades** Host lifecycle management for 200K+ servers** Disaster recovery readiness tooling* Capacity** Main owner of service capacity** Works with planning team to estimate and deploy new capacity** Debug and mitigate capacity related issues** Automate capacity validation and resizing* Onboarding Mentorship** Mentor new members on team** Mentor new hires for bootcamp program (2-4 new hires per half)** Mentor coach for bootcamp program (15-20 mentors each with 2-3 new hires per half)
