As a lead software quality assurance engineer, he has been deployed to a client who is using Guidewire technology. Jun Li's responsibility including: -- Building the entire testing strategy for the client regarding how testing should be rolling out release by release;-- Leading the QA team to perform automation testing framework “ISBTF” into practice (“ISBTF” framework is a product of Guidewire, and it is cucumber + Java based testing automated testing code)-- Connecting with the tech teams globally and getting the latest code base for QA team. For example, the client is in San Francisco, where the experts of supporting the system are in Canada, the developers who are building the system for the clients are in Dublin, Ireland and the QA team is in Manila, Philippines. -- Serving as a scrum master within QA team and a scrum member reporting to the PMO in a fast-pace and customized agile environment.-- Providing estimates, justification, and evidences for every piece of QA work.-- Reviewing and guiding QA team on test design and test execution.-- Helping address defects and issues proactively and re-prioritize problems based on business needs.-- Summarizing QA’s result daily and weekly.-- Training junior QA resources.

Working for ILS and being deployed to Amtrak, to help line out the testing strategy, perform software test (functional testing, SOA integration testing, iOS device payload testing and S3 secured validation) for Amtrak's latest ticketing Revenue Accounting system. In charge of providing consulting feedback and guidelines to testing team regarding how to increase the testing coverage for various end to end points. The system is based on legacy cobol program, with the upgrading and adopting new technologies like Amazon S3 service and iOS payment system, end to end testing becomes a challenge. Jun Li was on the position to make sure the testing deliverables are being delivered on time.

Managing multiple QA teams in agile environment to meet the goal of delivering Guidewire products' testing. Responding to overall QA quality and deliverables, participating client scrum meetings and conduct scrum meetings internally as a QA scrum master. Converting manual testing test cases into Selenium Web-driver and JAVA based testing scripts, and helping to build a generic framework of QA for reuse. Recently participating trainings of AI and Blockchain and trying to utilize these concepts to make testing more flexible and more efficiency. Reforming testing assets to be testing data driven, automated and control-able, digging into new technologies to progressing daily QA work.

Managing various QA teams in agile environment to meet the goal of deliver Guidewire ClaimCenter upgrade (cc6 to cc9 upgrade) testing for client. Responding to overall QA quality and deliverables, participating client scrum meetings and conduct scrum meetings internally as a QA scrum master. Utilizing exiting test scripts from QTP server in performing test data generating, regression test and transaction-based validation. Defining testing strategy, partnering with different vendors and client teams to adjust and meet the final goal, involving onboarding / offboarding offshore teams, and leading QA to update test aspects to date and deliver great quality of testing. Later in the stage of the project, UAT testing, performance testing and automation script updating were supported from Jun's team. Contributing to process improvement for defect triaging and deliverables. Performing trainings for offshore teams on domain knowledges (and Guidewire products), also begin to build selenium scripts for future automation use.

Roanoke, Virginia Area

He is in charge of QA project management and hands-on testing. Serve the client with detail QA resource planning and budgeting for both onsite and offshore teams as a service provider. Participating project portfolio management, project management, release management and on-boarding / off-boarding resources. Build manual and automation test plan, monitoring test results, improving regression scripts, detect defects and reporting risks. He has been also involved into UAT testing and product (warranty) testing and maintenance. Recently his team begins proposing projects into a new service model and trying to implement automation scripts by using Selenium.

Phoenix, Arizona Area

He has been a QA Test Lead and a Senior Product Consultant. The client partner was upgrading their IT systems by enabling Guidewire Technology. It includes major roll-outs with Policy Center, Billing Center, and Claim Center. He and his team provided knowledge, skills, and professionalism on how to plan huge testing as a self-management service provider. After Personal Auto has been a successful release, it took another couple of years to rolling out for Home Owner, Umbrella, Motorcycle, and Watercraft businesses. A lot of assets have been documented during these testing. QTP Product-Based Scripting was established, Manual Testing Matrix was maintained and improved, and Risk-Based Regression testing was innovated, and so on. This project also helped him to travel among major cities in the US and worked with client teams closely.

He has been working with Cognizant Technology Solutions since 2006, and has been participated or leaded various QA projects in multiple cities globally. He also has experience in financial background QA projects, Life Science QA projects and Broadcasting & Entertainment industry. Those projects provided him precious of experience in IT as a well as testing, bringing deeper understanding how business process is defined in different types of companies. Before working for Cognizant in 2006, he has some IT experience and worked for a small firm in Shanghai China as computer technical support. During 2005 to 2006, there was a short period he was a sales representative and he was an intern in a logistic company. That was the beginner of his career which made him knowing business negotiation, price definition of products / services, and how to understand “client expectations”.
