Responsible for temporarily taking over the teaching duties in the absence of a regular teacher. The primary purpose of a substitute teacher is to ensure that the learning process for students continue without interruption. The substitute teacher’s responsibilities include following the lesson plans left by the the absent teacher, maintaining discipline in the classroom, ensuring student safety, grading assignments, and providing feedback to students and the regular teacher. The substitute teacher may also be required to attend meetings, communicate with parents, and perform other duties as assigned by the school administration. The ability to adapt quickly to changing situations, manage classroom behavior, and maintain a positive and productive learning environment are essential skills for a substitute teacher. There are many intelligent educational methods that teachers utilize to engage student behavior. Potentially, the best include active learning strategies that engage students through group work, class discussion, and hands-on activities. These methods encourage students to think and participate actively in the learning process. Incorporating technology into the lesson plan can be an effective way to engage them. This can include online resources, videos, and interactive games. Then, humor can be an effective way to engage students and create a positive classroom environment. Substitutes can employ jokes, funny stories,and lighthearted anecdotes to help students feel more comfortable and open to learning. It is critically important to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of each student. This includes a variety of teaching strategies and materials to help students understand and retain the information being taught. As a teacher, I challenge students by providing clear instruction and expectations for classroom behavior and assignments. When students know what is expected of them, they are more likely to participate in the learning process.
