Hello! I’m Junsoo Kim, a dedicated bioinformatics researcher with a passion for pushing the boundaries of medical science through innovation in epitranscriptomics and nanopore sequencing. Currently, I am pursuing my Ph.D. at Seoul National University, where I’m developing cutting-edge tools using deep learning to analyze the epitranscriptome. This research is not only the focus of my dissertation but also a step towards my larger goal: contributing to the development of RNA vaccines and therapeutics, especially in the realm of infectious diseases. My academic journey started with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Biological Sciences (Biotechnology) at the University of Edinburgh, and then led me to the University of Oxford for an M.Phil. in Integrated Immunology. Alongside my studies, I have enriched my professional experience with roles such as Senior Researcher at Macrogen Inc., and Associate Researcher at Seegene Inc., honing my skills in data strategy and in silico analysis.I've been recognized for my scientific contributions with awards like the JW Foundation Basic Scientist Scholarship and the Samil Scholarship, and have presented my findings at forums like The Microbiological Society of Korea, where I received the Outstanding Oral Presentation Award. My dedication to research has also resulted in co-authoring publications in prestigious journals like Nature and Experimental & Molecular Medicine.I am always eager to collaborate with like-minded professionals and engage in discussions that could lead to the next breakthrough in biotechnology and healthcare. Let’s connect and explore the possibilities that lie at the intersection of bioinformatics and public health!
