Experience Summary:- Currently serving as a Senior Researcher at the Aerospace Technology Research Institute, Agency for Defense Development, specializing in the design, fabrication, and testing of aero-derivative gas turbine engine combustors since April 2023.- Worked as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at Bundeswehr University Munich from December 2018 to March 2023, under the mentorship of Prof. Michael Pfitzner and Prof. Markus Klein. Conducted research on data-driven turbulent combustion modeling, utilizing a high-fidelity combustion DNS database as training data. Interpreted trained deep learning networks using model-agnostic interpretation methods and analyzed a priori and a posteriori for unseen flame DNS data.- Completed a Ph.D. program at Korea Aerospace University between March 2013 and August 2018, mentored by Prof. Hong-Gye Sung. Engaged in the development of an integrated diagnostic program for stable and eco-friendly gas turbine combustors, which was funded by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy. The role involved creating an in-house CFD code to diagnose low-emission gas turbines.- Pursued a Master's degree at Korea Aerospace University from March 2013 to August 2018, also mentored by Prof. Hong-Gye Sung. Conducted research funded by POSCO Corporation, involving the development of a numerical model to study combustion characteristics of various types of pulverized coal using ANSYS FLUENT for large-eddy simulations. Additionally, worked on deriving a particle-laden flow combustion model of aluminum nano- and micro-sized particles and air mixture, funded by the Agency for Defense Development, covering a wide range of particle sizes from nano to micro.
