•Use third party analysis programs(PLINK, EIGENSTRATE, MACH) and self developed program(C shell and Perl language) to do Genome Wide Association Studies (GWAS) in epilepsy•Database(mysql) management

•Build, maintained and troubleshot high-performance computing (HPC) cluster system (on Mac OS X) with 80 CPUS.•Implemented all in-house developed genetic simulation programs (Shimshon, Jezebel, Caleb etc) into HPC•Using C language and Fortran 77 language to develop and modify user comprehensive genetic simulation and analysis programs on Unix and Linux system. The purpose of those programs are to test and understand the behavior of genetic analyses methods on conditions that are known (because simulated) and of teaching students how to perform and understand the genetics analysis of human disease. •Developed simulation application to generate data for GAW14 (Genetics Analysis Workshop). GAW is a bi-yearly international conference where researchers present results of a variety of analyses methods from a common real or simulated dataset.•Developed applications to import real disease family data and perform genetic analyses in a user-friendly environment. (Developed in C and Fortran77)•Instructed graduate and postdoctoral students and faculty on the use of the HPC system and simulation programs, taught them basic C shell script, provided help in computer trouble-shooting•Modified simulation programs based on the need of graduate and postdoctoral students and also implement programs to Xgrid and HPC system to help them to complete their projects. •Using Applescript developed a backup application to backup user’s data to server.•Tested all in-housed simulation programs.
