As a pioneer in the field of mathematical and empirical finance, I do not adhere to conventional finance theories, such as the random walk hypothesis (RWH) and the efficient market hypothesis (EMH). I also do not agree with the fundamental theorem of asset pricing (FTAP), which is a core part of financial economics and mathematical finance. The behavior of asset prices and returns does not simply follow a symmetric random walk and martingale process.Even if there exists a fully efficient market, the behavior of asset prices in the complete market cannot be described as a simple random walk. The EMH suggests that asset prices are based on all available information, but then the fluctuations of asset prices must not be random since available information does not influence asset prices randomly. The EMH itself contradicts the RWH, the theoretical background of the FTAP. Rejecting the RWH is empirically possible and should precede starting your trading. It is my perspective on conventional finance theory, and the empirical background of my algorithmic trading with scientific technical analysis.
