In my second year at the company, the person I was working on the project with left the company, and the project we were working on started to run into difficulties. We were working on a project to develop a function to super-resolution license plate images in a video viewer that could view videos recorded in a dash cam, but when the progress was less than 50%, I had to work on the project alone. The most difficult thing during the process was that even my colleagues were doubting whether this project would be successful. However, I proposed a method on how to proceed with the project quickly and persuaded them to try only this part and make a decision. In order to achieve super-resolution, high-quality image and low-quality image pair data are required. After devising a method to quickly generate this data, we were able to successfully apply it and significantly reduce the time required to collect data, producing results in a short period of time. In order to quickly create low-quality image and high-quality image pair data, we applied a method of displaying a license plate image on a monitor, recording it with a dash cam, cutting out the image in the video, and then matching it with the original image to create data. In the end, we were able to achieve results quickly and proved that super-resolution license plates are actually easier to read for humans. I registered a total of 3 patents, including the methodology, and because it was our company's first AI-related patent, I began to receive recognition from our colleagues, making it a very meaningful experience for me personally.
