About Juris Ulmanis
I am on a mission to help Ukraine win. I have been travelling to Ukraine since 2015 bringing humanitarian aid to families of deceased soldiers. Since the spring of 2022, I continue to raise thousands of dollars to provide much-needed equipment to the defenders of Ukraine on the front lines. I have just published my latest book, which has also been translated into Ukrainian, ‘’When War Becomes Personal’’, describing my first-hand experiences of the war in Ukraine. This book is dedicated to five of my fallen Ukrainian soldier-friends. I possess extensive knowledge of marketing, entrepreneurship, sales and social media. I spent 18years with Motorola in various leadership and business development positions in the US and Europe.I have a PhD in Management, and for the past 15 years, I have been teaching entrepreneurship, marketing and international business in Bachelor, MBA, and EMBA programs at universities throughout Europe. I am a serial entrepreneur and has launched a number of start-ups. I am a sought-after speaker and media commentator on adventure, defense, entrepreneurship, business, and management issues. I am also an amateur mountaineer and polar explorer and have written three books on my experiences in the mountains and Greenland. I have climbed Mt Everest and have completed the Seven Summits, the highest summit on each continent, and have crossed Greenland on skis.I was Vice-Chairman of the European Scout Foundation - based in Geneva, Switzerland, on the Advisory Board of Latvian Foster Family Society, Vice-President of the Latvian Swimming Federation and was a Board member of the NATO support group, the Latvian Transatlantic Organization (LATO). I was also afounding Board Member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Latvia. I am an officer in the volunteer Latvian National Guard and a recipient of the Three-Star Order, the highest Latvian national civil award, presented by the President of the Republic of Latvia.
