As an intern at 'Sustainable Technology for Industrial Processes', a department of TNO Energy Transition, I look into emission reduction options within the steel industry. For these sustainable options, I did thermodynamic modelling, a life-cycle assessment and a feasibility study, with the final aim of defining a direction for the further development of a new technology.

My physics masters thesis is done in collaboration with the PR3 project, a rocket launch experiment as part of the REXUS project. I did the theoretical design and simulations for a radiation measurement calorimeter, that will fly with a future rocket launch.

Nijmegen

Zebra is a small consultancy company which supports innovative projects in sustainable energy and developing the project from idea to product for the market. They support initiatives in management, feasibility, technical support and a whole lot more. My activities at Zebra included:* Managing Web Development for gauging local interest in heat networks* Researching applications of hydrogen at conventional sustainable energy production sites. * Contact with suppliers for gathering information on electrolysis applications.* Brainstorming on the course of the company* Designing and improving a revenue model* Many smaller tasks in other projects

AEGEE-Nijmegen is an international student's association, part of the biggest interdisciplinary student association in Europe, with more than 13.000 members over 200 cities in 40 countries. As president I was responsible for the organization and the board during one year, and was also involved in a lot of projects, for example as a Course Leader for a Radboud Summer School, being involved in the organization of local and international activities, communication with AEGEE-Europe, the University, Europe Direct Nijmegen and a lot of other projects.

With a small team I organised a Summer School of 1 week titled 'Discover the Netherlands: Field trips to Amsterdam, Utrecht and Nijmegen'. This was a summer school on Dutch culture, in which we gave workshops on things like bicycles, Dutch food, history, sinterklaas and many more topics. We also included day trips to Amsterdam and Utrecht, and overall we had a full programme for the participants. As a course leader I was the key coordinator both in preparations and during the summer school.

Developing software for the department of Radiology & Nuclear Medicine in the Radboud University Medical Center. Here I did multiple projects involving programming in Python, php, JavaScript, html, css and MySQL databases. The projects include:- Analysis tool for breast-cancer screenings- e-Learning & safety tool for employees- support in the Radboud Imaging website- Anonimization of patient data

I tutored high school students by giving extra lessons in their homes in subjects that involved the exact sciences (math, physics and chemistry). By giving this support I aimed to improve their grades and give them more personal assistance than their teachers could.

Being part of the editorial staff of the school newspaper Iris Tacheia from my high-school Stedelijk Gymnasium Arnhem (elected best school newspaper of 2012). My work included writing articles and editorial work.
