Working with businesses to future-proof their finance function

In this role, I directEd operational finance activities, administered financial management systems, evaluating and integrating new applications. I was charged with coordinating with finance hubs in US, Romania and China to document and implement global processes across operational finance.  I developed and led a highly skilled accounting and financial operations team of 70 members with Regional FC's; trained and integrated in Maidenhead. I regularly collaborated in the delivery of a complex finance roadmap with multiple projects affecting multiple streams across finance. I was a champion of multiple technology innovations and software implementations that improved tracking while reducing operating expenses.   A few of my achievements so far…  Reduced FTE cost by £2m in by centralising global finance functions in to 4 main hubs. Introduced KPI's, driving improved payment on time globally from 61% to 87%.  (SDL KPI was 85%). Successfully absorbed DLS acquisition, increasing payment transactions by 50%. Integrated SalesForce to Microsoft Great Plains for invoicing, increasing effectiveness by 23%. Integrated Concur in to Microsoft Great Plains for supplier invoicing, increasing effectiveness by 47%. Organised numerous charity events within the finance team, raising £1,200 for Food for the Hungry.

I governed the roll out of and seamless transition of HSBC as the global banking partner across 3 regions (UK, US and Asia). I strategically guided financial processes to align with organizational changes and built approval matrix to streamline invoice approvals and vendor payments.  I also developed and maintained a RAID log for the payment portal project. I devised and implemented business practices; trained in-centre teams on new processes. Throughout my tenure, I am credited with the roll out of a global banking platform to over 30 operating units, saving £250k in banking fees over 2-years. I also instituted a 12-month rollout plan and an 18 month communication plan for the implementation of INTOPay (homegrown online payment portal). I integrated varying online payment methods in multiple currencies across 32 countries, resulting in a shared profit on forex transfers (£112k first year) and a reduction of 5 days on DSO.

Focused on relocating the Prague office to the Global Service Centre in Manila and supporting the EMEA business through that transition.

Centralised finance admin tasks into a newly established SSC in Belfast. Built a billing, collections, cash apps and customer service team. Stabilised the processes for 3 years and then re-centralised to a Global Service Centre in Manila
