Former Ultimate Fighting Champion Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell began his career as an accountant. I’d like to think if he entered the insolvency profession he may have continued.I didn’t make the same transition. Following completion of my studies at UWA, I started in the insolvency department at Moore Stephens gaining exposure to the small business community in Perth and W.A. alongside experienced insolvency practitioners.I joined Hall Chadwick in 2010, one of the fastest growing accounting firms in the country. During this time I have achieved 10+ years of experience as part of the corporate insolvency team, of which I am currently overseeing 3-4 accounting staff. I have supervised 40+ appointments ranging from $20K-$2M in budget and traded multiple businesses with a monthly turnover ranging from $200k - $1M. Produced 10+ timely interim audits to meet pre-lending criteria on behalf of Bibby Financial Services. 200+ hours engaging with business stakeholders on a wide variety of subjects including business sale negotiations, production of legal contracts, commercial decision-making and corporate governance.Major achievements include;- Completed the successful turn-around of a Perth-based manufacturer of high quality industrial and mining vehicles from voluntary administration in January 2012 to reinstatement to official quotation on the ASX as of 16 May 2014;- Developed new client relationships with major lenders, law firms and accountants to generate $1m+ in billed time for the firm;- Negotiated the sale of a large W.A. based freight business for $4.5m;- Established fraud investigations into a real-estate trust account in conjunction with the W.A.
