I am an experimental physicist employed currently by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, where my main role for the past 20 years has been a project manager. The projects I have led have mostly related to the field of micro and millimetre wave technologies, and especially to monolithic millimetre wave integrated circuits and radio frequency micro-electro-mechanical systems. Recent topics include mm-wave radio front-end and components testing for MetOp-SG and terrestrial mm-wave 5G radio applications. During this time, a major commitment, 10 years, was the position of MilliLab project manager of the 70 GHz receiver development for ESA Planck Mission. Currently, I am leading VTT's portion of work in MetOp-SG testing activities and telecommunications and IoT solutions development in a national LuxTurrim5G activity, which aims at producing future 5G smart city solutions.Prior to VTT, my thesis and research work concentrated on infrared imaging and thermal nondestructive testing with some optics, photoacoustics and ultrasonics thrown in to spice things up. Sensors, data acquisition systems, electronics, computer programming, simulations and data analysis were natural additives to the recipe.
