I design, fabricate, and develop software for interactive kids museum exhibits. I 3D design and fabricate custom cabinetry; integrate sensors, actuators, motors, LEDs, video displays, & sound; and develop graphical applications (Python on Linux) and/or embedded firmware (C, C++ on microcontrollers) to bring environments to life so they may play a role in.

I design, fabricate, and maintain playful exhibits for kids to play with and on. My specialty is interactive electronics, with some of my favorites being my musical staircase, kid-programmable tilting ball maze, laser-banjo, and 911 call simulator.

I built projects at home and made videos about them. My goal was to show new makers that they could make cool things with a low budget and simple tools. The most popular projects I did were the pneumatic tube system (in my kids bedroom, to deliver teeth to the tooth fairy) and my kids' mission control desk & space ship, which landed me on a national TV.

Inspired, educated, and outfitted customers for outdoor adventure. Taught customers map, compass, and GPS use in REI’s Outdoor School. Prepared materials for staff training, and created a website so that other REI stores could access them. Received an Anderson Award from REI in 2012, similar to “employee of the year.”

Plan creation, site layout and stakeout, site cleanup, safety maintenance, trim carpentry (doors, moulding, etc), and customer and subcontractor communication.

Fort Myers, Florida

I started as production assistant, assisting with wiring new studios and audio production. I rose to the position of Operations Manager, responsible for studio maintenance, recording of shows, and the computer automation system that fed audio content to the radio transmitter.
