M1A2 Sep V2 Abrams Tank Commander
As a Tank Commander I was individually responsible for the morale, guidance, and training of atleast 6 Soldiers. Responsible for 1 M1A2 SEP v2 Abrams Battle Tank and all assigned weapons systems and equipment valued in excess of $5 million US dollars. I directed the deployment of personnel and tanks in combat operations and training exercises. I would evaluate terrain and selected routes, areas, and firing positions. I would identify and select primary targets, issue the safe and proper fire commands, and direct all fire of tank weapons. Supervise all crew level maintenance and conduct training of crew. We would conduct battle drills. I would have to immediately respond to direction from the platoon leader during stressful scenarios. Coordinate action of tank with platoon and all other supporting elements. Coordinate requirements for unit maintenance. Supervise camouflage of equipment. Evaluate the work performance of subordinate crewmembers. Ensure collection and proper reporting of intelligence data to unit and responsible staff sections.- I used my knowledge and experience to train and mentor my team daily; this resulted in 100% GO STATUS in all quarterly qualification testing- Served with distinction for over 3 months in a higher position as my immediate supervisor was attending a professional development school; this time included a 30 day long Network Integration Exercise- Maintained, secured, and accounted for the Company's Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System which was a total value of 12 million dollars- My team was dedicated to the maintenance of our vehicle which allowed for the tank and its systems to have 100% operational readiness
