I help lead the team at mobi in honolulu. We launched as the local wireless provider for Hawaiʻi in 2005 (although back then you might have known us as mobiPCS). Thanks to our work with Amazon and AWS, T-Mobile, Cisco + WG2, Sinch, TNS, netnumber, NeuStar, and several other incredible partners, we've been able to be the first in our industry to do a few crazy things despite being tiny.(I promise, there was a wild amount of complexity required, even for us, to become the first carrier on the planet to do a real-time, end-to-end activation entirely in-app and OTA, with customer onboarding, account creation, eSIM activation, porting, and provisioning happening in seconds and with every step flowing through the cloud. That's so wild that the Competitive Carriers Association named us the most innovative carrier of the year last year — and I promise, despite we are an operator member of the CCA, we didn't nominate ourselves and had honestly no idea anyone even cared enough to be paying attention to what we were up to until that point.)Before mobi, I was the vp for product helping lead ting mobile and ting internet at tucows (nasdaq: tcx) in toronto. We got to launch our first-in-the-industry device financing program with Affirm to match the big carriers, we built the first entirely-native, fully self-serve iOS app, and built a really successful partnership with Apple to, amongst many other things, become the first independent small carrier on the wholesale side in the U.S. to support Wi-Fi Calling across iCloud-connected devices and to help grow the small carrier ecosystem on the iPad thanks to our acquisition of Roam and our partnership with Otono + Idemia for eSIM and Apple SIM.
